Emily Swords

Emily works for BBC Children in Need who help make a positive and lasting change to children and young people across the UK. Emily’s role is overseeing their grant-making in the north of England. Emily has held a variety of roles in the voluntary sector, including grant-making, running a small children’s charity, and advising philanthropists on their giving and helping grant-making trusts develop their giving strategies. She has also worked in fundraising where she has raised significant sums from individuals and companies for a range of causes including cancer, homelessness and medical research.
