Brecon Mountain Rescue Team
Brecon Mountain Rescue Team were delighted to be awarded a grant of £2,275.
Our donation has enabled the team to purchase a new, purpose built wheelbase and attachments for their stretcher, making the rescue and evacuation of casualties in remote places easier for the volunteers and more comfortable for their patients.
Team Leader, Dr Rob Powell said: “We are enormously grateful to the Morrisons Foundation for this generous donation. It will greatly assist us in our life-saving activities, and will make a positive difference to many of our casualties.”
The wheeled stretcher is a vital piece of equipment for the charity that provides specialist search, medical and rescue services across 700 square miles, accessing places that no other service can reach.
Every year the rescue team, which is run entirely by volunteers, responds to over 100 incidents, serving the communities of Mid and South Wales, as well as the thousands of visitors who choose to come and enjoy the outdoor spaces of the Brecon Beacons.
