Emmaus Oxford
The Morrisons Foundation has donated £18,400 to Emmaus Oxford, a local charity that supports vulnerable people in the local community.
The grant from the Morrisons Foundation will fund a replacement van, enabling the charity to collect and deliver donated furniture and household goods. The fleet of vans form part of the charity’s social enterprise initiative by providing formerly homeless people with work experience. This sense of routine and purpose helps the charity’s beneficiaries to reconnect with the rest of the community.
Eddie Blaze, Emmaus Oxford General Manager was thrilled to receive the donation, “We're really grateful to the Morrisons Foundation for sponsoring our new van. Emmaus Oxford runs a social enterprise in which people who've been homeless work in our second-hand store and collect and deliver furniture from our trusty fleet of vans”
“We offer people who've been homeless a second chance by giving them somewhere safe to live and meaningful work. We also help the whole local community to reduce waste and get a bargain. The Morrisons Foundation's generous support will help Emmaus Oxford to keep our social enterprise moving”
