Christmas Appeal 2022

We’re proud to be helping food banks across the country this festive season thanks to our partnership the Trussell Trust.

From Monday 28th November through to 26th December, our Christmas Appeal offers Morrisons online customers the opportunity to add a donation of £1, £3, £5 or £10 to their shop.  Every pound raised will then be matched by us and donated to the Trussell Trust’s Emergency Fund.

The Christmas Appeal comes at a time when food banks need support most. The soaring cost of living means more and more people are being forced to use food banks and, for the first time ever, food banks are giving out more food than is being donated.  

The Trussell Trust reports that between April and September this year 320,000 people used a food bank for the first time. The charity anticipates they will give out 700,000 food parcels over the winter period, 275,000 of which will be for children, and the Morrisons Foundation’s Christmas Appeal will go a long way to help support people in desperate need across the country.  

Emma Revie, CEO of the Trussell Trust, said: “Food banks in the Trussell Trust network are facing their toughest winter yet and expect to distribute 7,000 emergency food parcels each day in the coming months, and many of these will be for children.”
